Tools for threading and their use
Veselý, Václav ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Sliwková, Petra (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis Tools for threading and their use deals with issues connected to tools, the materials used and their usage in the field of mechanical engineering. Individual parts of the thesis cover types of tools for threading, methods of threading and materials suitable for tap making. Further, the range of monolithic milling taps in the producers’ supply is also analysed.
On the increase of cutting performance of thread cutting taps with coatings
Vondra, Tomáš ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of this master's thesis is to deal with main thread production methods and to study the influence of coatings on tap cutting performance. The high-speed steel cutting taps with different PVD coatings (Physical Vapour Deposition) were tested, while the same cutting conditions were set. Cutting torques were measured and analysed, which together with the results of evaluation of tool wear led to conclusion.
On the increase of cutting performance of thread cutting taps with PVD coatings
Grygárek, David ; Fiala, Zdeněk (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with HSS cutting taps performance in combination with very hard and tribological PVD coating application and their contribution to increasing of cutting properties. Then is described the mechanisms and forms of cutting tool wear. The goal of the experimental part of the thesis was determine, compare and subsequently evaluate cutting properties of threading tools using taps with different types of PVD coatings. During realization of the experiment, constant cutting conditions have been ensured and the only variable were the different types of coating layers. The result of the experiment was measurement of cutting torques depending on time and rate of wear of cutting tools. Measured value are statistically processed and drawn conclusion.
On the cutting performance of coated taps
Brillová, Kateřina ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This work deals with the characteristics of taps, taps geometry, taps coating and tapping properties. The focus is on the latest trends in commercially produced taps and evaluation of cutting parameters.
Production of threads with taps
Juránek, Martin ; Dvořák, Jaromír (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis deals with the issue of production threads with taps. The introduction of th work briefly describes the use of thread in machine-building, thread geometry and basic types of threads. The work goes on to describe the methods tapping and thread control function. The work also deals with the description of types of taps, tool materials and the description of the three most used types of coating in taps. The experimental part adresses the question of whether the thicker layerof the TiN coat leads to an extension of the tool life. Two types of taps were used in the experiment. One type of taps had a coating thickness of 3-4 m and the other had coating thickness of 5-6 m. The experiment included measuring of time-dependent torque. The measured data were processed and subsequently evaluated whether the thicker coating layer resulted in reduced tool wear and increased tool life.
On the increase of cutting performance of thread cutting taps with coatings
Světlíková, Jitka ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the process of cutting, the wear of cutting tools and the fact, that coating makes tools more durable and increases cutting power. The goal of the experimental part is to determine, compare and evaluate cutting features in the process of thread cutting with taps of different coatings. For the experiment invariable cutting conditions were chosen, the only variable is the type of used coating. The result of the experiment is the measurement of cutting torque dependent on time and the grade of the wear of cutting tools.
Production of threads in thin-walled parts
Václavek, Petr ; Slaný, Martin (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe and compare technologies used in a production of threads in thin-walled parts. It includes descriptions of commonly used materials for these parts and their qualities, that may have an influence on the thread production. The following are the descriptions of different methods of manufacturing threads directly into thin walls, forming different types of bushings and anchoring threaded fasteners. Special focus is on a comprehensive analysis of processes of welding, riveting and pressing nuts. The technological and economic suitability of each solution is then compared.
